ACS Archaeologists at Dunlavin

ACS were recently appointed to carry out the archaeological mitigation for Dunlavin Sewerage Scheme and Waste Water Treatment Works at Dunlavin, Co Wicklow. The contract will run for 15 months and involves the construction of a new wastewater treatment works at Dunlavin Lower, a new pumping station at Logatryna and new outfall lines to the River Greese at Colbinstown. In addition to the archaeological monitoring of the topsoil stripping along the route, advance archaeological testing is being carried out at areas identified as having archaeological potential in the Environmental Impact Statement. A number of architectural surveys are also being carried out by ACS staff on structures to be impacted by the proposed scheme. Work on site commenced on the 2nd of December 2013 and will run for most of 2014.
