ACSU are delighted to add Osteoarchaeologist Glenn Gibney to our experienced team of licence-eligible archaeologists. Glenn recently passed the Archaeological Excavation Competency Interview, which is conducted by the National Monuments Service and the National Museum of Ireland. Under Section 26 of the National Monuments Act 1930 (as amended) all excavations carried out for archaeological purposes in the Republic of Ireland must be undertaken by an archaeologist acting under an excavation licence.
Glenn is also an experienced Osteoarchaeologist, specialising in the excavation and analysis of human remains, making him one of very few licence-eligible archaeologist in Ireland that is also qualified in human osteology.
He joins our excellent team of Site Directors, which includes Donald Murphy, Ian Russell, Deirdre Murphy, Derek Gallagher, Caroline Cosgrove, Magda Lyne and Linda Clarke.
